Sound familiar?

You have already tried the usual fixes.

And you are still not where you want to be.

  • A back that flares up every few weeks, no matter how much you stretch.
  • Leaking you were told is just normal after kids.
  • A gym routine that never quite sticks, or keeps getting you hurt.
  • Another season lost to the same injury.
  • A scale that keeps drifting back to the same number.

You did not fail. You only ever got a piece of the answer.

  • You see the same person every visit, and you never retell your story.
  • Your plan starts with what you want to do, then works backward to how you move, train, eat and sleep.
  • Your physical therapist, trainer and health coach work on one plan together, so when your goal changes you never start over somewhere new.

Shawn, "When did you know it was paying off?" Just noticing that everyday life is easier. Clothes fit better. You feel better. You're not as fatigued after doing the normal everyday activities. When it comes to strength training, physical therapy, this is the place that does it all. I had a recent conversation with a nephew of mine. He saw me talking about, like, muscles, and he said, "Wow, your legs are like bricks now rather than muscles." It was a funny comment, very innocent, wasn't prompted, but it really made me realize that all this hard work really is paying off.

Amy, "What can you do now?" It's pretty remarkable what I can do now. Had a hard time with, just basic hip mobility. squats, things were starting to get tight again in my hips. I like to hike, and it was getting more painful again to do the things that I had loved to do. and that was definitely literally just, back squatted 95 pounds. And it's not just about the weight, it's about the range of motion, too. It's being able to not just do regular squats, but, all movement that I can do, is greatly improved.

Laura, "How are the dog walks now?" So it's probably a mile loop that we do, and two years ago I'd do the mile loop and get home and be like, "Ugh, that was awful." And now I'm like, "Do you wanna keep going? Can we keep going, guys?" Like, I have the energy for it too.

Dan, "What can your body do now?" Well, I can touch my toes now. I can bend down and touch my toes. my endurance for hiking has gotten a lot better. I am so much better at handling long hikes. We went on, like, a 12-hour hike, and I'm surprised that I'm still here standing. So that's definitely one of the things that changed the most.

Questions

Answers before you book.

The questions people ask us most in the first few minutes of a call.

What happens at the free consult?

You talk with our team about what is going on and what you want your body to be able to do. If we can help, we book your first visit with the right person for your goal. If someone else can help you better, we will tell you that too.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book with us directly for any of our services, no referral needed.

Is there physical therapy in Shirley, MA?

Yes, right here. We are a physical therapy clinic in Shirley, MA, at 2 Shaker Road, Suite C200, in Phoenix Park. Every visit is one on one with your physical therapist.

Do you take insurance?

Most of our clients do use their insurance for reimbursement of our physical therapy services. Weight Loss/Health Coaching is HSA and FSA eligible. We go over everything in the discovery meeting.

I have not worked out in years. Is personal training right for me?

Yes. Many of our training clients start right there. Your personal trainer builds your plan around where you are today, teaches you how to move well, and progresses you at a pace you can keep up with.

How do you help athletes get faster, stronger and stay healthy?

Our athletic performance coaches build speed, strength and power for your sport, and our physical therapists are part of the same team if something hurts. We work with youth, middle school, high school and college athletes, as well as adults who compete.

Is pelvic floor therapy only for after having a baby?

No. Our Pelvic Health Center helps women during pregnancy and postpartum, and anyone dealing with leaking, pelvic pain, or bladder and bowel problems, at any stage of life.

How is your health coaching different from a diet?

There are no crash diets or meal kits. Your health coach works with you on nutrition, sleep, stress and daily habits so the weight comes off and stays off. It is HSA and FSA eligible.

Can I use more than one of your services?

Yes, and that is what makes us different. Physical therapy, pelvic health, personal training, athletic performance and health coaching all happen in one building on one plan, so you can move from one to the next without starting over.

Do you offer dry needling and shockwave therapy?

Yes. Both are part of your plan of care when they are the right tool for what is going on.
